Chapman wins NFL Punt, Pass & Kick Sectional

Payton Chapman, a current 8th grader and QB at Ennis Junior High, participated in the sectional round of the NFL Punt, Pass and Kick competition last week. Payton placed first in the 12-13 year old division to advance to the Team Championship Round, which will be held November 20th at Cowboys Stadium during the Cowboys-Ravens

LADY LIONS VOLLEYBALL PLAYOFF SHIRTS

Tonight’s win over Jacksonville gained the Lady Lions a spot in the playoffs. Congratulations to Coach Newton and the Lady Lions! We are selling playoff shirts to support these ladies. This will be a quick turnaround in order to get the shirts in before the first game. Shirts are $15 for sizes Adult S-Adult XL.

JV Football Dominates Jacksonville 42-0

  The JV football team defeated Jacksonville 42-0 at Lion Memorial Stadium Thursday night to improve to 3-0 in district play. With the win, the Lions need 2 more victories to ensure the district champions. The Lions will visit the Nacogdoches Dragons this Thursday (October 28th) at Nacogdoches starting at 6:00 PM.

Freshman Football Defeats Jacksonville 38-18

The freshman football team defeated Jacksonville 38-18 at Howard Cook Field Thursday night to improve to 3-0 in district play. With the win, the Lions need 2 more victories to ensure the district championship. The Lions will host the Nacogdoches Dragons this Thursday (October 28th) at Lion Memorial Stadium at 5:30.

Junior Varsity Boys XC – Runner-Ups

The Ennis Lions Junior Varsity Boy Cross-Country squad took home runner-up honors in the District 17-5A XC Championships with 43 points. Anthony Martinez captured 3rd in 20:12 and Travis Mitchell in 4th with 20:18 a personal best.  Alan Hernandez finished 10th in 20:51 with Rodrigo Lazano finishing 12th in 21:13.  Alex Alferez completed the course

Junior Varsity girls – District Runner-Ups

The Junior Varsity Lady Lions looked to replicate what their varsity counterparts had accomplished an hour before; a championship. Diana Castillo took the lead at the gun and didn’t see a competitor for the next 5000 meters.  She completed the course in 24:08 and a championship medal around her neck.  In 9th place Jennifer Zuniga
