Green Throws No-Hitter As Ennis Lions Freshman Triumphs Over Mansfield Summit
Laverneus Green was brilliant on the pitcher’s mound on Saturday, as he threw a no-hitter to lead Ennis Lions Freshman past Mansfield Summit 18-0.
Ennis Lions Freshman secured the victory thanks to 12 runs in the third inning. Ignacio Aguinaga, Ryan Diaz, Stephen Herrera, Caleb Aldama, Ashton Ehly, and Cade Pool all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.
Ennis Lions Freshman notched 12 runs in the third inning. Ennis Lions Freshman’s offense in the inning came from singles by Aguinaga, Herrera, Aldama, Aiden Zmolik, and Xavier Coronado, walks by Diaz and Pool, and by Ehly.

Bearyd was on the hill for Mansfield Summit. He allowed two hits and six runs over one inning, striking out two. Williams and Osborne entered the game as relief, throwing one and one-third innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively.
Zmolik went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Ennis Lions Freshman in hits. Ennis Lions Freshman tore up the base paths, as six players stole at least two bases. Pool led the way with three.
Ennis Lions Freshman was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Ehly had the most chances in the field with five.
