Hosting their first game of the season, the JV Boys found chemistry with each other to capitalize on eight goals against Kaufman. Opening up the charge of goals was from sophomore Kevin Arias in the 10th minute. After battling for possession for the next 20 minutes, Arias would find the back of the net for a second time in the thirtieth minute. The score was 2-0 at half.
After changing the formation to adjust to Kaufman, Juan Morales, freshman, would score in the thirty-eighth minute with an assist from freshman Fernando Tovias. Morales would find Kaufman’s weak spot in their defense to score from breakaway run in the fiftieth, fifty-second, fifty-sixth, and seventy-eighth minute. Arias would find the last goal of the game, and get his hat track in the last minute of the game.
Keepers Ricky Ruiz and Cruz Arias would work as a duo to keep the Kaufman Lions scoreless. The strong communication and effort of the defense and midfield kept the majority of possession for Ennis.
The JV Boys will travel to Richardson this week to participate in the Berkner Ram Classic Tournament.
