It came down to the wire on Friday, with Ennis Lions Varsity taking victory on a dramatic walk-off single in the late innings that sealed their victory over Cleburne.
The game was tied at five with Ennis Lions Varsity batting in the bottom of the eleventh when Jarron Honza singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
In the first inning, Cleburne got their offense started when Willie Rangel singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
Drew Graham was on the pitcher’s mound for Ennis Lions Varsity. He went four and a third innings, allowing three runs on six hits and striking out four.
Rangel led things off on the mound for Cleburne. He surrendered three runs on two hits over five and two-thirds innings, striking out 14. Cason Gregory threw four and two-thirds innings in relief.
